AerOceaNetwork Kuala Lumpur Conference Update

In AerOceaNetwork Announcements, AerOceaNetwork Events, AerOceaNetwork Updates on August 19, 2009 at 11:19 pm

I had a look at the list for the meeting on last Friday and noted that there are still several discrepancies between those who say that they are coming and those who have actually registered.  Our form seems to be working fine when we test it so I can only imagine that the issue is that many people who have intentions to come to the meeting have not in fact actually submitted the form.  For anyone who has not yet received any confirmation from us regarding your registration already please submit the form so that we have you officially.  The form is here:

http://www.AerOceaNetwork.net/meetingsform.htm

Secondly, the hotel is reporting pretty much the same.  The list of those who have booked with them does not correlate with the people who have booked with us.  They have some bookings of members who have not yet registered with us and we have several people who have registered who have not yet booked with the hotel.  Again, we do not automatically book you at the hotel as many people prefer to try for their own rates and some even prefer to stay in other hotels.  As such, we need your cooperation on this.  Anyone who is planning to go to the meeting will need to make their booking direct with the hotel contact, Ms. Cherrie Tan, whose information is listed on the meetings page of our website:

http://www.AerOceaNetwork.net/meetings.htm

For anyone who is sitting on the fence right now regarding coming to the meeting, I highly recommend that you come.  This is where you actually get the business from being a member in the group as it is your chance to meet the other members and sit and promote your company’s services to the other AON agents.  Also, you will be able to discuss upcoming business with the other attendees.  You really are selling yourself short by not coming to the meeting.

The online meeting scheduler will be live as of the 21st of August and updates of attendees will be given weekly from that point.  We will work diligently this week to get our list and the hotel list corresponding but we need your help on this.  Again, if you have registered but have not booked the hotel please get that done within this week.  If you have not registered but have booked the hotel please register.  And if you plan to come to the meeting but do not plan to stay in the Shangri-La Hotel please also let us know.  Please make all communications on this matter pass through our membership and meeting coordinator, Ms. Juke:  http://www.AerOceaNetwork.net/contact.htm

I look forward to seeing the AerOceaNetwork attendees there.  We will have several new faces present and there will be a lot of business done.  See ya in September!

AerOceaNetwork Manila Meeting a Huge Success

AerOceaNetwork Members are Happy about the Meeting!

AerOceaNetwork Members are Happy about the Meeting!

I just wanted to give you a short bit of background on the meeting as it went…

This meeting was out largest ever so far. We had more than twice the amount of participants over our last joint meeting with WLN (before the merger). And at least half of the people in this group were from companies that had never been to any AON or WLN meeting so this was a very big bonus for the participants. We also had good representation by the news media, being covered by three newspapers, one shipping magazine and the online edition of a Philippine television station. So far I have seen the below reports:

Shippers, freight forwarders engage in ‘speed dating’ to boost trade
GMA News TV
(Gary Dale Cearley and Josephine Cruz are quoted in this report)

And then…

Logistics firms press policy changes amid difficulties
BusinessWorld Newspaper
(Guilbert Purcia, Joachim Weber and Tony Bucci are quoted in this report)

I am still receiving pictures from AerOceaNetwork participants who may have shot these over the past week. If you know of any photos out there that haven’t been sent on for me let me know.

But the best thing I believe that came out of this meeting was that virtually everyone who I spoke with came away with business in the pipeline. And that is what we meet for!
